A 5yr old child bitten by dogs needed hospital treatment

At around 9.40pm on Monday, May 25, the victim - a five year old boy – was walking along a pathway in Bakerscroft, which leads to Carleton Road, with his mother when he was attacked by two dogs.

“The owners of the dogs made no attempt to give their details to the victim’s mother and left the scene with their pets.”

The dogs are described as having brown/grey long fine fur and a wolf-like appearance. Both dogs had plain red collars on.

There were two women and one man with the dogs at the time of the incident. The first woman is described as white, aged around 40 years old, around 5ft 5in tall, with black hair tied up into a messy bun. She was wearing a short brown top, jogging bottoms and a gold chain necklace.

The second woman is described as mixed race, aged between 18 and 25 years old with dark hair tied up into a messy bun. She was wearing a white vest top and light grey flared jogging bottoms. She was also wearing gold earrings in the shape of a square and a long thin chain necklace.

The man is described as white, aged around 25 years old, with dark brown or black coloured hair and he was clean shaven. He was wearing a thick blue hoodie, with the hood down, white trousers and dirty trainers.

Officers investigating an incident where a child was bitten by two dogs in Cheshunt are appealing for information and witnesses.

PC Abigail Owen, who is investigating, said: “The dogs were not on leads at the time of the incident and the victim suffered several dog bite injuries, which required hospital treatment.

PC Owen said: “I am appealing for anyone who saw the incident to get in touch and I would also like to speak to anyone who can help identify the dogs and their owners.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Hertfordshire Constabulary via the non-emergency number 101, quoting crime reference K2/17/2184.

Alternatively, contact the independent crime-fighting charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or through their anonymous online form at www.crimestoppers-uk.org. No personal details are taken, information cannot be traced or recorded and you will not go to court.
