Man jailed following cannabis factory raid in Waltham Cross

A 24-year-old man has been charged with cultivating cannabis after information was provided by the local community, that an address on Ruthven Avenue, Waltham Cross was being used as a cannabis factory.

Officers from Hertfordshire Constabulary’s Operational Support Group gained entry to the address on Wednesday 8th June and seized more than 200 cannabis plants.

A man was also found hiding in the property and was promptly arrested.

As shown in the photo, cannabis plants can be seen hanging to dry out after being harvested.

Cuong Nhat Le from Vietnam, was charged with cultivating cannabis and appeared at St Albans Magistrates Court on Friday 10 June and was sentenced to 12 months in prison.

Investigating officer PC Daniel Aston said: “We rely heavily on the information and intelligence that you provide, so please continue to support us. We may not always act immediately, as some operations take time to put together, to get the right people, in the right place, at the right time.

“Thank you to everyone who has passed on information about drug dealing and drug related crime in Broxbourne.”
